Why hire a pro instead of doing it yourself
Choosing between two permanent systems is a question about your house, not a matter of taste. Fascia depth, drip edge profile, gutter type and how the roof turns at each corner all affect which fixture sits flush and stays invisible in daylight. An installer who only fits one system will tell you that one fits. We fit both, so we can tell you when it does not.
The install itself carries the same requirements either way. A dedicated circuit, a properly sited controller, squared corners and a straight run along the fascia. It is fixed to your building permanently, which is exactly why it is worth having someone do it who will still be answering the phone next December.
When Bosso is the better fit for a Knoxville home
Bosso and JellyFish solve the same problem with different hardware. Both are permanent, both sit in a track under the roofline, both are app controlled with a very large color range. They use different fixtures and different control systems, which means one of them will usually suit your house better than the other, and that is a question about your specific eave, not a matter of preference.
It matters most on Knoxville’s older stock. Bearden, five miles west of downtown along Kingston Pike, mixes early houses with modern infill. Sequoyah Hills is largely 1920s and 30s with notable mid-century architecture and sits inside a National Register historic district. Fountain City, six miles north, still has its early-twentieth-century houses. Those homes have edges that a system designed around modern construction does not always land on cleanly, and a historic district is precisely where a fixture needs to be invisible in daylight.
